Toy boy or host clubs
Toy boy clubs represent the flip side of the coin, where, instead of geishas and women entertainers, we find women seeking entertainment in host clubs which cater to women only.
The increasing number of women enjoying financial independence and access to big expense accounts has led to the growth of this modern-day entertainment phenomenon. Toy boy clubs are posh, luxurious establishments whose high-priced entertainment rivals that of the geisha houses.
These are mainly located in the cities entertainment districts. InTokyo they can be found in Akasaka and the red light Kabuki-cho district in Shinjuku. Toy boys are well-groomed, smart-looking male escorts. A glib tongue and ability to dance is all required.
The women who patronize host clubs are usually lonely wives or jaded women of the night. Wives whose husbands are often away on business trips or socializing with colleagues and clients also find solace in Toy boy clubs. Hostesses and professional escorts also patronize these host clubs for their novelty. It must certainly be therapeutic and relaxing to take a rest and be entertained for a change.
